The Shinjuugakure Project

Title: Pumpshiregakure The Hidden Village of Divine Beasts: The Way of the Claw (神獣隠れの爪道)

As far as some background facts are concerned, the ide of the Pumpshire characters becoming ninja officially appeared 'on paper' in November 2008 and was inspired by the anime and manga Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto. The characters are based on those featured already in the Pumpshire world of my creation, adorned with some new outfits and possessing some new abilities corresponding to the manga world of ninjas depictured in Naruto. While I don't have the right to claim any possession of the ideas strictly characteristic to the Naruto ninja world, I do claim copyright of the Shinjuugakure characters :)

General Description

Relatively far from the Country of Fire in the ninja world, there lies the Country of the Claw - a small land which remains a mystery to the people of the neighbouring territories - inhabited by a reclusive race of antropomorphic felines who call themselves 'nekonin'.* Although small, the country also has its own Hidden Village - the Pumpshiregakure Shinjuugakure, named after the household kami of its two biggest clans - and its highly-skilled ninja are respected and feared by numerous leaders of the world as they are not only able to use various advanced ninja techniques, but also know how to take advantage of their sharp feline senses. However, no matter how strong, the nekonin also have problems of their own. Now that the country is at peace, an ally has unexpectedly asked for a team of representatives to travel to their country. Using this opportunity, the Tsumekage bestows a secret agenda on the chosen squad. What will this quest lead to? Will the alliance be strengthened - or will it be broken?

More updates, including the cover artwork and logo, to come in the future!

*Nekonin is a pun the inhabitants of the Country of the Claw use for describing their race as in Japanese it can be written in two ways: 猫人 meaning "human cat"; and 猫忍(者), an abbreviation of a phrase meaning "cat ninja".
